The grapes for Casalvecchio grow up in the clay hills of Casale Marittimo, a few kilometers from the sea in an area with a high temperature difference between day and night. This is beneficial for the best polyphenolic ripening of the grapes. Our production is in the range of 5 tons per hectare.
At the winery, the macerations take 20-25 days at controlled temperatures. This emphasizes the qualities of the grapes from which we obtain an intense, complete and structured wine, with high potential to improve during ageing.
